Today’s Drop Catching Report – July 31st 2009
Well I know I wrote to you guys about my drop catching watch list for .com drops. However last minute I had a change of heart (again). This domain drop business is funky. You need to stay on top of things.
After evaluating a short list of the drops I selected: RubyTechnology.com, UnitedStripes.com & PepperBowl.com – I see that 2 are still available for hand reg. In my opinion.. Ruby Technology is a huge thing in web development & hosting atmospheres. PepperBowl I guess would be remembered easily since USA Football is categorized like SugarBowl & RoseBowl etc. It just caught my eye & I decided to watch it.
Last minute what happened was that I was watching: explore.us & simplest.us. I felt like these were the best drops to catch. I quickly put away the other drop catching lists & I went after these two only.
Here’s how it broke down: I started off by loading only: explore.us & simplest.us into various drop catchers. Mostly targeting Dynadot.com. About 16 minutes into the drop I got a rash of emails from Dynadot. Yes!! 2 emails said that my order was pending for explore.us. 2 of my Dynadot accounts had caught this domain? I thought for sure I had it! But upon checking the details it said: “Processing” under each Dynadot account’s – transaction status detail.
Simplest.us is mine, but Explore.us ended up going to snapnames. I really don’t care as it was all a toss up. But I nearly got away with it & had Dynadot been a split second faster, you would be thrilled at the drop catch. It’s not common for a domain to be processing in your Dynadot account. Maybe the backorder systems don’t get it 100% when it comes to .us drops. I am sure loving it tho
Better luck tomorrow. I noticed more .us drops & .org drops expiring soon.
I need to get back to programming new tools over the weekend. I will update the blog once those are completed. It’s mostly for cctld drop lists. I will also continue to report my drop catching reports.
